FAQ about the application
-
The Club Alpbach Upper Austria (CAOÖ) is awarding 12 first-time scholarships to young committed people from Upper Austria to participate in the European Forum Alpbach from August 17 to 30.
A CAOÖ first-time scholarship enables you to participate in the Forum Alpbach as well as in the CAOÖ supporting program for the entire duration of the Forum. The scholarship also covers accommodation costs.
Your contribution consists of writing short reports on the activities at the Forum, active participation in club events and a deductible of €170. You will also have to pay for your own meals and travel costs to and from the Forum. Please contact us if the deductible would be too much of a financial burden.

Selection process
One of our most important goals is to guarantee the greatest possible fairness when awarding scholarships. This is why we have relied on an independent selection committee to evaluate the applications for many years. This guarantees that the best-qualified individuals are awarded one of the coveted scholarships.
After the committee has made its decision, there will be a short online assessment for selected applicants with members of the Club Alpbach Upper Austria board (15.05. and 17.05. from 17:00).
We would like to thank all members of the selection committee for their kind support of the Club Alpbach Upper Austria! The selection committee in 2024 is made up of the following personalities:

Returnee program
-
Even after the scholarship for the European Forum Alpbach, CAOÖ members can participate in the Forum - we make this opportunity possible for our network as so-called returnees!
Returners are active CAOÖ members who have already participated in the European Forum Alpbach at an earlier point in time through a scholarship from the Club. Instead of the regular ticket price, they receive discounted tickets for the entire European Forum Alpbach or for a part of the Forum (200€/package) and a place in the accommodation of the Club Alpbach Upper Austria. Accommodation and tickets are paid for by the returnees themselves.
-
official paying members of the Club Alpbach Upper Austria
maximum 35 years old
in case of high demand, preference will be given to returnees who (would like to) actively participate in the Club or the European Forum Alpbach
If you are not participating as a returner of the Club, we look forward to seeing you as a regular participant in the Forum or simply as a visitor to Alpbach. If we still have free capacity in our accommodation, you are of course very welcome.
